Dr. Dirk Oligschläger studied chemistry at the Technical University (RWTH) of Aachen, focusing on technical and physical chemistry, specifically on methodologies in the field of instrumental analytics and non-destructive testing. He completed his studies in 2012.
He then received his Ph.D. from RWTH Aachen University under Prof. Dr. Dr. Bernhard Blümich. Within his Ph.D., he worked on the development of portable nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) scanners and related applications in material and building science. He gained knowledge in various cross-sectional disciplines such as electrical engineering, communications engineering (especially RF coil systems), civil engineering (especially with regard to moisture transport mechanisms) and chemical process engineering.
Following his Ph.D. in 2015, he completed his training as a German Patent Attorney in a law firm located in Düsseldorf. His technical focus was directed to mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and instrumental analytics. In course of his training, he also acquired comprehensive knowledge in the field of trademark law. After further training at the patent infringement division of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich, Dr. Dirk Oligschläger successfully passed the German Patent Attorney Examination in November 2018. In 2021, he also became a Representative before the European Patent Office (EPO).
